The Mini-Sanatorium1 home salt therapy salt sniffer device can be effectively used for alleviating hay fever, respiratory allergy, bronchitis and asthma.
For alleviating trouble sleeping, bettering general being, applying salt therapy.
Allergy is an intensified, medical reaction of the immune system on allergens. Allergens are –aside from a few exceptions- the protein components of those substances (such as pollens, home dust mite, animal hair antigen), which cause hypersensitivity. Hypersensitivity is an abnormal condition, when the disease is caused by such external stimuli, which have no effects on others. Respiratory allergy may affect the whole bronchial system (this case is called allergic asthma), or it causes rhinitis, and occurs as allergic rhinitis (hay fever).
There can be several factors in the background of the allergic asthma. Symptoms of seasonal asthma can show up in definied periods of the year. We list here those types, in whose background vegetable pollens need to be searched, which are present in the air in a specific period of the year. Symptoms of perennial asthma persist during the whole year. Among the reasons we may meet most likely home dust and animal hair. The occupational asthma signs a different category. Among its sub-groups animal based diseases can be found – livestock breeding or jobs related to laboratory animals-, the vegetable based asthma – its occasion is frequent among bakers and confectioners, because of the inhalation of cereal powder and flours, coffee and tea-, and the asthma caused by enzymes, which most likely occurs when producing washing powders, and in the food and medicine industry.
Allergic rhinitis may also occur seasonally or cause symptoms all over the year. Seasonal forms are caused by wind-pollinated vegetables and fungal spores. Symptom relief is specific in the winter period, which ends by the blooming of trees in early spring, then by the flowering of the grasses in April. In Hungary ragweed and mugwort are responsible for the vast parts of the seasonal allergic rhinitis. Among the perennial allergens, home dust mites living on the human epithetial and hair waste can be found, which cause symptoms mostly during the cold months, but generally all over the year. In case of cleaning up, heating, and humidity level higher than 60%, their concentration in closed spaces increases. Perennial allergy can be also caused by the allergens of animal hair and feather.
The leading symptom of the allergic asthma is the difficult breathing showing up right after inhaling the allergen, which is accompanied with coughing without sputum shedding, and feeling of chest tightness. Breathing out is more difficult because of the bronchospasm. The whistle followed by the attack is often free audible. In more serious cases not only the breathing out, but also the inhalation is getting more difficult: the patient utilizes the assistant muscles of breathing as well – the pectoral muscles, the shoulder muscles, the neck muscles and the nose wing muscles – but even the speaking seems to be too difficult. The coughing is often the prologue of the attack, but sometimes it remains the only symptom of the patient. The attack usually lasts from some minutes to some hours, and after that the patient becomes asymptomatic, his/her spirometric values become normal again. The clinical picture of the asthma varies not only between patients, but also by time at the same patient. In the background of the abnormal fluctuations, hypersensitivity is primary. The so-called serious acute asthma is a rare condition, which can endanger life. If the acute asthmatic attack is not treated properly, or taking the basic, so preventive medicines are neglected, then the patient can get into a serious condition, when the usual bronchospasmolytic inspiratories can not help alone. In these cases the patient struggles with difficult breathing also in quiescence, his/her speaking stutters, uses his/her breathig assistant muscles.
Nose itching, runny nose, nasal congestion and frequent sneezing are specific for allergic rhinitis. The symptoms usually come together with conjunctivitis, which features lachrymation and eye itching. Allergic condition has a significant restrictive effect on the everyday routine: the trouble sleeping drives to the reduction of the capability of concentration and causes negative effects on the mood.
Negatively charged ions are healthy
Negatively charged ions support our health and strengthen our performance, have a positive effect on all functions of the body, supported by the facts below.
In a normal breath around the same amount of positively and negatively charged ions can be found. The inhaled negative ions have positive effects on our health, while the positive ions are harmful. The highest concentration of negatively charged ions can be found at sea, in high mountains and in forests, and at waterfalls and river beds as well.
But in most places our breathing are not only balanced, but also overloaded with harmful positively charged ions, which are created by electric devices like computers and televisions or even smoking. While nowdays we spend 80% of our time in closed places, obviously its climate is standard regarding our health. In the city and office, or in our workplaces the number of the negatively charged ions are not enough, because many of them are vanished by the air conditional device, exhaust gases of the cars and the factories.
We breath 90.000 liters of air as a daily average. The mucosal found in our nose and windpipe contains salted phlegm material, which – as we have already learnt – is capable of transforming a part of the positive ions to negative ions.
